With the information required from a police department such as Somerton's, we are using a blog to convey important announcements, make the SPD known to Somertonians and keep records of public relevance both for the sake of transparency and the benefit of our cadets, officers and detectives.

As a single reminder, one that will make this post a reference in the future, we would like to make very clear to both Somertonians in general and the public at large that the Somerton Police Department merely enforces the law described in detail in the Somerton Covenant, as it is determined by the Somerton Authority, commonly referred to as "the Authority". SPD is not a legislative body, but an executive one.
We trust Somertonians understand this and cooperate with SPD officers at all times to help them make Somerton safer, prosperous and growing.
